CFO (Chief Financial Officer)
Lisa McConnell is our resident CPA and bean counter, although in our industry she's really more of a beam counter. Lisa works very hard to make sure we have accurate reports and timely budget information - no small task when you consider every home is made up of over 300,000 pieces and parts and involves the labor of 30 vendors, 20 sub contractors and hundreds of hours of work. That's a lot of counting on your fingers.
Lisa also manages to act as our resident conflict resolution guru and has us humming along nicely as a great team.
Her secret skill (not so secret, though) is that she makes the most beautiful chocolate cake you have ever seen. Oh, and those outfits she wears - most of them are her own fabulous creations.
The McConnell Homes team has over 60 years' experience building custom homes and renovating existing ones. More importantly, our experience is specialized in customer service and managing the construction of custom homes. We can help you to manage both the challenges and the vision of building your home.
By utilizing in-house and vendor resources, the staff of McConnell Homes is uniquely qualified to create homes that suit the lifestyles of their owners. 'Custom' doesn't just mean you get to choose the color. 'Custom' means that your lifestyle, both current and future, and your tastes are built into your home. Homeowner input becomes reality.
Dana has been with McConnell Homes since 1994 and has almost 20 years' experience as a carpenter, foreman, and superintendant. As a skilled craftsman himself, Dana has a unique ability to manage other craftsman to ensure the job is done to his exacting standards. Having performed many of these tasks himself gives Dana a sharper eye in overseeing the trades people and artisans who work under him.
Dana has supervised the construction of more than 60 McConnell Homes, but never handles more than 2 homes at a time. This ensures that the greatest amount of attention is given to each home when it needs it most.
Everyone has hidden skills and Dana's include making the best homemade lasagna and building miniature dollhouses for his daughters, Victoria and Catrina.
Michelle has been involved with some aspect of construction or real estate for nearly fifteen years. As a real estate investor, she understands both the construction process and also the design aspects.
Michelle works with McConnell Home's customers in all aspects of the design and selection process. Helping home owners to choose lighting and plumbing fixtures, counter-tops, flooring, trim, paint colors, and designing kitchen and bath cabinetry, Michelle's touches can be seen throughout each of our homes.
Michelle's secret skill is being able to read an entire book in one sitting. Although with two toddlers she doesn't get even that much time.
Jon began as an apprentice carpenter and framer in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. His ten years in the construction trade have taken him from apprenticeship to lead carpenter, to project manager and owner of his own remodeling company.
Jon has designed and installed high-end custom cabinets and worked extensively with CAD software. He brings to McConnell Homes a well-developed sense of how to translate client needs into a buildable and beautiful product.
Not many people know this about Jon: he has the ability to transform himself from a work-rumpled carpenter to a snazzy man about town with only a few moments' notice (at his wife's urging, but he can do it).
Lauretta makes the world go round. With her in the office, she is the traffic coordinator to make sure that everything is running smoothly. As a home owner, you will have more than a passing contact with Lauretta and she will always make you feel right at home.
Lauretta's surprising skill is the ability to pull off at least four different hair styles a month - all of them even more stunning than the one before.
Dennis McConnell is a third generation home builder with over 40 years' experience. As president of McConnell Homes, he has built or renovated over 350 homes in the City of Atlanta over the last 30 years. Dennis is a former president, secretary, and treasurer of the Intown Atlanta Chapter of the Home Builder's Association.
With a firm belief that intown living can be elegant and convenient, Dennis develops large lots in historic neighborhoods and designs to meet strict historic district criteria for each neighborhood.
We all have skills that few people know about us - Dennis happens to make a killer apple pie. He also has a magnetism for marbles and finds them everywhere on jobsites. Ask to see the large collection when you stop by our office - it fills a pickle jar.
Libby is the fourth generation of homebuilders in the McConnell family. She is involved with the planning and permitting of every house and helps her Dad organize. Her original title was Goddess of Acquisitions and Oiler of Bureaucratic Machines but she opted for a shorter title of Acquisitions and Environmental Programs.
With a passion for the environment, she plans each house to be an EarthCraft House. She strives to make your home comfortable and energy efficient while reducing the strain on natural resources.
Libby's skill is bird watching. After spending years as a wildlife biologist in Florida, Idaho and Latin America, she's batty about birds!
